during my pre-employment check up last yr... i found out dat I got partial hearing loss... and in very quiet areas, especially in lift... i'll hear an "eeeeeee" sound from my left ear... Sometimes i will feel some pain inside my left ear...
as far as i can remember i fell down at the carpark below my block when i was in pri 2 and i earned myself 9 stitches... according to my mum, i was quite lucky as any deeper the breakage goes will damage the nerves linked to my ears and will result in hearing loss. I was told to be more careful and not to get the same spot injuried again...
when i was in still secondary sch, i will haf problem sleeping at night... so the remedy is to leave the radio on while i sleep & i am able to rest much better... only till my final year in NUS, i start to notice dat my earing power is getting worse...
i tried acupuncture and traditional medicines last year, it only helped to reduce the intensity of the sound and the pulsing pain. in the end the acupuncturist suggest me to try to seek a specialist doctor...
after a consultation in NUH last week, they did ear blockage and audiometry tests on me. There isnt any blockage and the hearing loss is double confirmed...
the doctor inserted a probe into my nose and it isnt any abnormality... the feeling of a probe in the nose is indeed very weird and ticklish... i got to use my mouth to breathe while doing the test...
he concluded dat the damage may be from my brain or the middle region of my ear... and i got to do a brain scan by end of next month... despite so much uncertainties and doubts, i got to stay calm & focus in order to search for the light in the dark...
i believe dat a gd way to start is to read more abt ppl with the same problem as me... also at the same time is to keep a healthy mind & body...
